Founder Daniel Lual

About the Founder

Dann Foundation was founded by Daniel Lual Akoon, a South Sudanese student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering and Computer Education at Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia. After years of facing scholarship rejections, Daniel’s perseverance finally paid off. Those four years of constant struggle inspired him to create a platform that ensures other young South Sudanese students will not face the same hardship.

“I believe that despite our backgrounds, everyone deserves a right to education. My mission is to leave a legacy of opportunity, a story where our names are remembered not for what we received, but for what we gave back.”

As a computer science student, I created this platform to allow young South Sudanese men and women to access life-changing opportunities abroad. Dann Foundation is a non-profit initiative dedicated to publishing verified scholarships, providing mentorship, and I hope that there will be future projects funding high school students in South Sudan to receive proper guidance on how to apply for scholarships and pursue higher education.

This platform is not more than just a website; it is an initiative of change built on hope, resilience, and a shared belief that education is the greatest equalizer. South Sudan will be great through education and that is why Dann Foundation stands as the catalyst for that change.

Mission

To ensure that, despite our backgrounds, every young South Sudanese has the right to quality education, global exposure, and the opportunity to transform their future through mentorship, guidance, and access to scholarships.

Vision

To build a generation of educated, empowered South Sudanese who return home after their studies to create impact, foster development, and lead the transformation of our nation through knowledge and innovation.

“Through Dann Foundation, we believe that South Sudan will rise not through division, but through education.”
